Success, well sort of......

My goal this weekend was to get it started and take it for a ride. I was successful in that goal. (Video attached to show it running on its own) I was able to ride it up the street and halfway back. I think that I have a fuel supply problem. We will work on that this week.

Carbs Cleaned, re-assembled and re-installed

Carburetors

Well the seller indicated that the carbs needed work! They were just plain nasty! Not sure how all the water got in there, let alone the white chalky stuff. Yikes!

Steps this week

1. Cleaned up the wiring
2. Installed Battery
3. Checked wiring, Starter works
4. Was able to start it on starting fluid!
5. Next steps, check the carburetors

disassembly begins, goal is to get it running, in preparation for restoration

Starting a new project

I found this treasure at the Hershey Swap meet last week. I took my earnings from selling some of my crap and parlayed it into this beauty, a 1975 Kawasaki KZ400. It does not run but the parts are there it only has 5200 miles on it and seemed a good starter project for someone, who has never worked on Motorcycles before. I will look to track the progress of the restoration here. First Step, get it running.
